Our history on Long Island, NY
Our Dojo started teaching Kendo in 1990 in East North Port. We out grew the original location and moved the Dojo to our present location in Farmingville in 1994.

Under M. Becerra Sensei, the Shu Mei Kan Dojo has grown and is flourishing. We have many different ages training at the Dojo.

Nowadays Moises is 6'4" and has attained the level of Shodan at 16 years of age.
Men and women train side by side. Kendo is for every one, young and old and our Dojo doors are always open to sincere students interested in learning the traditional art of Japanese swordsmanship.
